Md Zaini Md Zakaria

Zaini joined Censof Holdings Berhad (Censof) in [when?] as the Group’s chief financial officer. He has amassed over 20 years of progressive experience in finance and operations management for various industries, namely construction, healthcare, rail, trading, water concessionaire, international consultancy and government agency.

He started his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers as a senior audit associate from July 1999 till May 2002, where he was responsible in auditing a diverse clientele base and provided advice and recommendations to the clients for effective internal control and good corporate governance. Subsequently, he joined SAJ Holdings Sdn Bhd in June 2002 as the Head of Financial Management Section before moving on to be the manager of corporate finance and accounts for Ranhill Utilities Berhad. At Ranhill, he successfully assisted in the issuance of Islamic Bonds of RM1.2 billion, implemented turnaround strategies on non-performing division of Ranhill subsidiaries by restructuring & implementing controls on cash flows & operating procedures, and completed six Sigma assignment on accounts receivable and billing system to better improve data collection & debts management.

In November 2008, Zaini joined Sapura Resources Berhad as their Financial Controller where he was in charge of managing their Group consolidation and management reporting for five companies and secured external financing for new projects. He then moved to Scomi Rail Berhad in January 2010 as its Senior Manager of Finance before joining IHH Healthcare Berhad as their Financial Controller in December 2010.

In November 2011, he joined Malaysian Industry-Government Group for High Technology as the General Manager of Finance and Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO) before he was promoted to Vice President of Group Corporate Service Division and Group CFO in May 2015. He was responsible for the functions of finance, human resource, IT, administrative, risk management, corporate advisory, membership, business development in addition to acting as Group CFO for five subsidiaries.

He graduated with a degree in Combined Studies (Accounting and Finance) from De Montfort University, Leicester, United Kingdom and received the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants from Emile-Woolf College, London. He also graduated from the 5th ASEAN Senior Management Development Program from Harvard Business School.
