Censof Holdings Berhad Champions Mental Health Awareness Through “The Conversation That Saves Lives”

by Admin Admin No Comments

Petaling Jaya, 21 August 2026 – As part of its ongoing efforts to promote employee wellbeing and foster a supportive workplace culture, Censof Holdings Berhad recently hosted a Mental Health First Aid awareness session titled “The Conversation That Saves Lives”, led by renowned mental health advocate and practitioner, Dr. S. Shashitharan.

The session brought together employees from across the organisation to deepen their understanding of mental health, strengthen awareness of available support resources, and learn practical ways to assist colleagues, friends, and family members who may be experiencing emotional distress.

A Timely and Important Conversation

As organisations navigate increasingly dynamic and demanding work environments, mental wellbeing has become an essential component of a healthy and productive workforce. Recognising the importance of early intervention and open dialogue, Censof organised the session to equip employees with the knowledge and confidence to identify signs of mental health challenges and respond appropriately. The initiative reflects Censof’s people-first culture and its belief that wellbeing and professional success go hand in hand.

The Power of a Simple Question

At the heart of the session was a powerful message: a single conversation can make a meaningful difference in someone’s life.

Through engaging discussions and practical examples, Dr. Shashitharan highlighted how employees can play an important role in supporting those around them by recognising signs of distress, listening without judgment, and encouraging individuals to seek appropriate help when needed.

Participants were reminded that providing support does not require professional expertise. Often, genuine empathy, active listening, and a willingness to reach out can be the first step towards helping someone feel heard and supported.

The interactive nature of the session also encouraged employees to reflect on the importance of creating a workplace environment where conversations about mental wellbeing can take place openly and without stigma.

Key Takeaways from the Session

Employees gained practical knowledge and tools that can be applied in both professional and personal settings, including:

Recognising early warning signs of emotional distress, behavioural changes, withdrawal, and shifts in mood or performance.

Understanding the ALGEE Action Plan: Approach, Listen, Give reassurance, Encourage professional help, and Encourage self-help.

Learning how to initiate meaningful conversations using empathy, openness, and active listening.

Applying the 3R Mantra: Recognise, Reset, Reach Out as a simple framework for taking timely action.

Identifying professional mental health resources and crisis support services available both within and outside the workplace.

Building a Culture of Care

Mental wellbeing is a critical pillar of a healthy workplace. By creating opportunities for education and dialogue, Censof continues to cultivate an environment where employees feel safe to seek support, support one another, and prioritise their wellbeing.

A workplace that encourages openness and psychological safety not only benefits individuals but also strengthens collaboration, engagement, and organisational resilience.

Through initiatives such as this, Censof aims to empower employees with the awareness and confidence needed to foster a more compassionate and supportive work culture.

The session also reflects the Company’s broader vision of nurturing a healthy ecosystem where people are equipped to succeed both professionally and personally.

Looking Ahead

Censof Holdings Berhad extends its sincere appreciation to Dr. Shashitharan for sharing his expertise, insights, and practical guidance with the team.

As the Company continues its wellbeing journey, it remains focused on initiatives that support the mental, emotional, and professional growth of its employees.

Ultimately, meaningful change begins with meaningful conversations, and by encouraging empathy, awareness, and understanding, Censof continues to build a workplace where every individual feels seen, supported, and empowered to thrive.

Because a resilient organisation is built upon the wellbeing of its people.

For 1QFY2027, Censof recorded revenue of RM23.9 million, 5.8% lower than RM25.4 million in the corresponding quarter.

Despite the softer topline, cost of sales declined by 14.2% to RM13.6 million, driving gross profit (“GP”) up 8.1% to RM10.3 million from RM9.6 million. Consequently, GP margin expanded to 43.3% from 37.7%, reflecting stronger gross margin performance despite the lower revenue.

The improvement in gross margin translated into stronger bottom-line profitability. Profit before taxation (“PBT”) rose 66.3% YoY to RM4.0 million, with PBT margin widening to 16.6% from 9.4%, while profit after taxation (“PAT”) increased 77.1% to RM2.7 million and PAT margin improved to 11.3% from 6.0%.

PAT attributable to owners of the Company more than doubled to RM2.8 million from RM1.2 million, while basic earnings per share (“EPS”) increased to 0.50 sen from 0.22 sen.

By segment, Financial Management Solution – Government (“FMS-G”) revenue grew 4.4% YoY to RM16.6 million, accounting for approximately 69.5% of the Group’s net revenue and remaining the anchor of Group earnings. Financial Management Solution – Commercial & SME (“FMS-C”) recorded revenue of RM5.8 million, marginally lower YoY.

The Wealth Management Solutions (“WMS”) and Digital Technology (“DT”) segments recorded lower contributions during the quarter, reflecting the timing of project delivery milestones and revenue recognition.

The Group continues to focus on strengthening its maintenance, support and subscription-based income streams to provide a more stable earnings base alongside project-driven revenue.

“The initiatives we set out at the close of FY2026 are progressing as planned,” said Ameer Bin Shaik Mydin, Group Managing Director of Censof.

“Our focus on operational efficiency and on widening the recurring revenue base has lifted margins and profitability this quarter. Work continues across the Group to strengthen execution and service quality in the segments affected by project timing this quarter. We remain focused on disciplined delivery and on our alignment with Malaysia’s e-invoicing and public sector digitalisation agenda.”

This solid financial foundation supports the Group’s ability to pursue new opportunities in emerging technologies. With Budget 2026 prioritising artificial intelligence (“AI”), blockchain, and quantum computing through initiatives such as the Malaysia Digital Acceleration Grant, Censof remains well-positioned to participate in the continued expansion of Malaysia’s digital economy as demand for technology-driven solutions continues to grow.
